Lo Khere Chiang: Ferro-cement products sell

KUCHING: Landscaping using the ferro-cement technique is a good opportunity to generate income and getting involved in business, said chairman of Padawan Municipal Council (MPP), Cr Lo Khere Chiang.

“Young people especially teenagers are encouraged to learn and master the technique of making ferro-cement,” he said in his speech at the closing ceremony of Knowledge Sharing Ferro-cement Programme at MPP’s Pitcher Plant Garden at Kota Padawan near here yesterday.

He also said that one should have the initiative and creativity to produce quality and attractive ferro-cement products which can be sold at higher prices.

“Ferro-cement is not only used to make chairs and tables but a lot of other things,too,” said Lo.

He added that through the collaboration between MPP and Kuching Polytechnic the holding of the programme should be continued and expanded in future

“This effort will allow us to provide a comfortable space and facilities for the well-being of all,” he said.

More than 40 students and lecturers from Kuching Polytechnic, villagers and MPP staffers took part in the programme.
