KUCHING: Rivals two candidates of Chinese
in new seats, Dun Batu Kitang certainly interesting as it not only involves two
parties feuding - Sarawak United Peoples Party (SUPP) and Parti Keadilan Rakyat
(PKR) - but it is the story of two best friends, so a journalist commented
Chinese newspaper, Sin Chew Daily, Ming Wong Eng.
Voon Shiak Ni and Lo Khere Chiang said, may
have different political views but their friendship lasted close, until they
can discuss any issues that are mature.
"If you win the issues related to the
people ... they can complement each other," he wrote.
Before the name of both announced their
respective parties, Shiak Ni is a political activist while Khere Chiang is
chairman of Padawan Municipal Council (MPP).
Eng Ping said he did not recognize Khere
Chiang personally but based on the information obtained, candidates with a
background in engineering is a broad-minded, pragmatic and powerful - with the
public perception thereof are mostly positive.
"Of course there is the belief that he
can win in the next election," he said.
However, he said, it is unfair to dismiss
Ni Shiak he know personally as an individual who is no less intense.
Shiak Ni said, is an easy to find and deal,
never even felt disinclined to anything else.

"So communicating with the Chinese is

the election, they will surely be well received by the other party.
"I hope that their friendship can ease
