SUPP President Senator Datuk Dr. Sim Kui Hian has received
numerous valuable inputs related to various issues concerning the local
residents from the Batu Kawah area. Meanwhile, Sim has also followed up
with the locals personally in order to get a better understanding of the
local issues.
After he inspected the affected areas in Batu Kawah, along with SUPP Batu Kawah Chairman Tan Joo Phoi, the branch Secretary Lim Ah Ted and MPP Chairman Cr Lo Khere Chiang a few days ago, Sim gave clear and prompt instructions, stressing that issues concerning the livelihood of the people must be addressed and dealt with immediately.
According to the locals, said Sim, the thickets on both sides of the road had not been trimmed and taken care of all the while and it was potentially dangerous to road users. Not only that, he also pointed out that drainages at certain areas were also clogged due to this problem.
“The locals brought the matter up and requested for our assistance, which I think is very reasonable. SUPP Batu Kawah branch took note of this matter and had on numerous occasions, discussed the matter with SUPP headquarter and myself. We shall find the best solution in the shortest given time.”
Since the rainy season is just around the corner, Sim stressed that it was crucial to ensure the said problem would not affected the people living around those areas.
“SUPP Batu Kawah branch has never failed to bring issues concerning the locals up in our regular meetings, we are awfully grateful to them for this and I can ensure you, that our branch leaders are, at the moment, following up the matter closely with the relevant authorities.”
Apart from encouraging the Rakyat to seek SUPP’s assistance whenever they have problems, Sim also reassured that SUPP would take proper and prompt actions to help address those problems.
