KUCHING: People in Kampung Haji Baki were urged to support and vote Barisan Nasional (BN) particularly for BN Batu Kitang candidate Lo Khere Chiang.

This was pointed out by the Chief Minister’s wife, Datin Patinggi Dato Jamilah Anu when meeting with women of Kampung Haji Baki in the kampung here yesterday.

Jamilah said the opposition party namely Democratic Action Party (DAP) had done nothing for the residents especially in terms of development.

“Now this area is under Batu Kitang, the new constituency, therefore we must vote for BN because we know only BN can assist us and bring much development to our area,

“Take this opportunity to vote for BN, as we now have learned that under DAP we got nothing. They didn’t even visit this area during the last five years and we don’t want to be left behind,

“One vote will determine who will win, therefore don’t waste another five years to vote for people who did not do their work; it doesn’t matter either there is five or six cornered fight but only one that can fight for us, that is BN, ” Jamilah stressed.

She added that under the helm of Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Adenan Satem, she believed that the people would gain much more development as Adenan had done so much during the two years of him being chief minister.

“He is working hard for us, he’s been busy fighting for us, he promises it and he means it, I know how he works.

“Do not easily trust what has been posted in Facebook from the opposition parties; we are the ones who live here, we know well about our state and we all know what Adenan has done for us,” she said.

Meanwhile, Jamilah also reminded the villagers to prepare well during the election and look after their own health to avoid any inconvenience during the polling day.

Meanwhile, Lo in his speech said that he would be doing his best for the villagers if he got elected.

“I am very thankful to Dato Jamilah as she is very supportive of me and always encourages people to support and vote for me. As we all know that only BN can fight for us, those opposition parties cannot fight for us.

“I urge the villagers to support and vote for me. My experience of six years as Padawan Municipal Council chairman and about 20-years being involved with the local party and serving the people, will certainly help me to be a prepared people’s representative.

“If I am given the chance, I will work hard for the people and be honest and fair to serve the people just like our chief minister,” Lo said.
