‘Don’t fall prey to independents masquerading as BN-friendly’

KUCHING: Independent candidates are claiming to be friends of Barisan Nasional (BN) merely to confuse and hoodwink voters.

When on the campaign trail for BN’s Batu Kawah candidate Senator Datuk Dr Sim Kui Hian yesterday, Datin Patinggi Datuk Jamilah Anu reminded voters that there is only one BN candidate.

“Do not get confused with the independent candidates, who claim that they are BN-friendly. What is most important is we must support the BN,” she said.

Jamilah, the wife of Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Adenan Satem, urged Batu Kawah constituents to vote out the opposition, which had failed to bring development to the area.

“I see that a lot needs to be done here. Before this Batu Kawah was under DAP and there were not many changes,” she said.

“We all want development. What is important now is to ensure a big win for BN. We don’t want this place to continue to be abandoned and lagging behind under the opposition’s administration.
