Engineering problems are under defined, there are many solutions, good, bad and indifferent. The art is to arrive at a good solution. This is a creative activity, involving imagination, intuition and deliberate choice and funding nevertheless.
Engineering refers to the practice of organizing the design and construction and, I would add operation of any artifice which transforms the physical world around us to meet some recognized need.
Sounds sophisticated isn't it. But in layman terms, I'm a humble builder.
Civil engineering is the branch of engineering which teaches you the most about managing people. Managing people is a skill which is very, very useful and applies almost regardless of what you do.
Today's civil engineer not only has to design new facilities but must also analyze the effects of deterioration on infrastructure elements, consider system interdependencies and evaluate life cycle impacts while also considering environmental and economic sustainability within the context of society.
It's my duty to serve, it's my duty to deliver! But I cannot do it without the rakyat.
We cannot rely on temporary flood mitigation work only. We need to solve them from the root with very sophisticated planning and impactful systems .
Together as one voice, give me the responsibility to make Batu Kitang better!
For these, I humbly and sincerely urged the Rakyat to vote me, Lo Khere Chiang, a passionate Civil Engineer into the State Assembly.
