KUCHING: The Padawan Municipal Council
(MPP) has implemented the reduction in assessment rates for 2016 in pursuant to
the approval by the State Cabinet to reduce the 2016 assessment rates for
residential properties paying annual assessment rates of RM700 or below.
A press statement from the council
yesterday said residential property owners paying annual assessment rates of
RM50 or below are waived from paying assessment rate.
It added MPP has generated the
reduced/discounted 2016 assessment rate bills. Ratepayers can obtain a copy of
the discounted assessment rate bills at the counters of MPP at Kota Padawan and
Batu Kawah New Township and at the Urban Transformation Centre (UTC) in
Kuching.
The Council is now sending out the
discounted assessment rate bills.
Ratepayers who have paid their 2016
assessment rate bills need not worry. For those who have paid the 1st half year
2016 assessment rate bill, the council will credit the overpayment to the 2nd
half year 2016 rate bill.
Those who have paid both 1st half and 2nd
half 2016 assessment rate bills or whole year 2016 assessment rate bills, the
overpaid amount will be credited to the following year assessment rate bill.
Ratepayers who have overpaid the 2016
assessment rate may also apply for refund from the council, said the statement.
