Swearing in of the Padawan Municipal council Chairman, Deputy and 30 councillors

Local Government Minister Datuk Dr Sim Kui Hian who witnessed the swearing in of the Padawan Municipal council chairman, Lo Khere Chiang, his deputy Datuk Ahmad Ibrahim and 30 councillors expressed his confidence in Lo to head the council.

Lo who is also the Batu Kitang State Assemblyman was praised for charting out a 5 year strategic plan and said the transformation would bring Batu Kitang and Batu Kawa development in time to come.

He said MPP could also be able to collect more revenue and assessment rates with development coming in.

Dr Sim said to make that achievement, everyone has to play a part in the council. He said all of them must work hard and the councillors have to ensure that their core duty has to be done which included rubbish, drains, roads and street lights.

He said  by working, the people’s quality of lives would improve .

There were 30 councillors sworn in, of them, 11 are from Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) – Ahkim Sarok, Chai Sheau Lin, Chen You Fatt, Jong Nyong Khoon, Jimson Jium Sungong, Jong Tien Kiong, Lai Chien Wei, Shirley Phui Siat Lan, Tnay Li Ping, Yap Yau Sin and Yeo Eng Kuang.

Ten from Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB)  – Bronnie Marshall Benedict Poris, Henry Raud, Kamaruddin TSDS Su’aut, Pauzy Baijuri, Kassim Was, Kepel Sumeb, Michael Chin Apau, Rabian Kipli, Sahferi Tambi and Wan Hashim Wan Sulaiman and four are from Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) – Apriler Payan, Lau Ting Ping, Sehat Sanub and Vincent Richard Rindas;

Three are from three Sarawak Progressive Democratic Party (SPDP) – Edring Maku, Sabastian Sakoi Senyau and Stephen Ang Teck Chai; while two are from United People’s Party (UPP) – Paul Akiu Banat and Wadel Boyod.
