KUCHING: Padawan Municipal Council (MPP)
chairman Lo Khere Chiang yesterday encouraged members of the public and the
business community to support the youth by organising more activities that will
benefit them.
Speaking at the launching ceremony of Merdeka
Auto Carnival 2016 at Giant Hypermarket, 10th Mile here, Lo pointed out that the state government
encouraged events like this.
“I am happy to see so many events happening
during the weekend and it makes him proud as a Sarawakian to see people coming
together.
“It is especially worth it to encourage the
youth to come out and participate in activities like this,” said Lo, who is
also state assemblyman for Batu Kitang.
The three-day carnival (12 - 14 August
2016), organised by the Sarawak Auto Enthusiast Society (SAS), saw not only a
variety of modified cars on show, but also a display of advanced driving
skills, a zumba competition, a photoshoot competition, and lucky draws.
Also present were MPP councillor Tnay Li
Ping, SAS president Wan Asraq Arif, Kota Padawan Giant Hypermarket manager
Anbanathan Pomramu, and organising chairman Willie Ong.
