KUCHING: Batu Kitang State Assemblyman, Lo
Khere Chiang wants the public to know that he is doing his job as a
representative to the people in his area despite what the opposition are
saying.
Lo said this in response to claims made by
Pending State Assemblywoman, Violet Yong along with Kelvin Yii, both from
Democratic Action Party (DAP), that he was not doing his job by not sourcing
for funds to fix the problems faced by the people in his constituency.
“Who says I didn’t source for more funds?
Since winning the election, I have already got approval to receive funds for
various projects.
“One of them was to make a drain in front
of St Ann Church at 10th Mile to solve flooding problems,” said Lo.
With more projects approved for next year,
Lo said that it was unfair for the opposition to make such claims against him
without doing proper research or talking to the locals first.
“All this came through dialogue sessions
with the locals which we did way before the election took place.
“From the feedback we received from them,
we know what they want. Of course, we cannot fix all their problems at the same
time, but we will attend to them one at a time.
“Just go around and ask the locals as well
as community leaders; ask them how much we have done before making allegations
and misleading the public,” he said.
Lo said this during a press conference at
the Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) Batu Kitang Branch at 3rd Mile here on
Saturday.
