Assemblyman for Batu Kitang, Lo Khere Chiang is calling the public to
visit the Pesta at Pusat Penjaja Komuniti Kampung Bubok, which will be
held from Friday to Sunday starting 7 am to 6 pm.
The Pesta will sell a variety of home grown vegetables, jungle produces, local fruits, traditional Bidayu food and souvenirs.
Lo said he is pleased that Bumbok community has initiated the Pesta and this will bring extra income to them. I hope the place will be made popular so that the daily people who sell vegetables and fruits will move to a safer place from the roadside,” he said.
At the moment a number of hawkers were trading near the roadside which Lo said is hazardous to other road users as vehicles would be parked at the side of the narrow roads.
He said it is time for the hawkers and the people to change their mindset by going into the Pusat Penjaja Komuniti centre as there are ample parking spaces.
Calling all Kuchnites to visit the 30 stalls starting Friday, Lo said they will be spoiled with so many choices of traditional food andjungle produces.
He also thanked the organising Chairman, Sanni ak Sipek and the committee for initiating the Pesta.
Lo said the last Pesta was two years ago and it was a huge success.
“I only hope this Pesta will turned the community centre in a daily hawking centre,” he said.
