KUCHING: Padawan Municipal Council chairman
Lo Khere Chiang recently urged residents in Padawan to follow the rules getting
proper approval before extending their houses.
Lo, who is also State Assemblyman for Batu
Kitang, was at Jalan Tai Shin Jar here to look at the damages caused by a freak
weather condition on Wednesday, said everyone must be careful when doing
extension as the weather is getting unpredictable these days.
He said many houses in the area had their
roofs blown off, cables broken and there was blackout in some areas.
Pointing out that without proper designs or
approval, the illegal extension would endanger lives and damage properties.
He thanked the agencies of Bomba, Sesco,
TM, Police and JPAM, and especially the Neighbourhood Watch Committee (KRT)
for assisting the victims of the houses damaged by the thunderstorm.
