According to Batu Kitang assemblyman Lo Khere Chiang, visitors are attracted to the bazaar not only because of it hosting the weekend night market that offers various culinary delights to food lovers, but also its cultural and historical significance.
“Through the power of social media, Siniawan has become a tourist attraction. Activities such as the night market should be held more often to develop tourism in Siniawan,” said Lo, who is also Padawan Municipal Council chairman, at the closing of Old Town Siniawan Carnival 2017 near here on Sunday.
He represented Minister of Housing and Local Government Datuk Dr Sim Kui Hian at the event, where Serembu assemblyman Miro Simuh was also present. The stalls for the Siniawan night market occupy the space between two old shophouse rows there.
