Voters in Kpg Semaba urged to choose BN for more devt
KUCHING: Voters in Kampung Semaba here are advised to choose the Barisan Nasional (BN) in this parliamentary election if they want more developments coming to their area.
According to Minister of Local Government and Housing Datuk Dr Sim Kui Hian, the previous MP who represented the opposition had done nothing to improve the standard of living of the people in the village.
He commented that all the facilities and development in the village was brought in by their BN elected representative, Batu Kitang assemblyman Lo Khere Chiang.
“All these developments were brought in by your BN elected representative Lo. Your previous MP did nothing, so after what Lo has done for you, you should do the right thing and vote for BN,” he said after officiating at the closing ceremony of an event hosted by the National Integrity and Unity Department at Kampung Semaba community hall yesterday.
Dr Sim, who is contesting as the BN candidate for Stampin parliamentary constituency, commented that should voters in Stampin vote for BN, the people would have two ‘engines’ running for them so that more developments could be implemented in the area.
As such, he hoped that the people of Stampin would learn from what had happened to them when they were represented by the opposition.
BN lost Stampin – a predominantly-Chinese constituency – to DAP in the 2013 parliamentary polls.
It will see a straight fight between Dr Sim, who is Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) president, and Democratic Action Party (DAP) Sarawak chairman Chong Chieng Jen.
