Lo: PBB’s unity, maturity ensured a smooth transition

KUCHING: Batu Kitang assembylman Lo Khere Chiang admires the way the Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) has dealt with a very important matter – deciding on the successor since the passing of Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Adenan Satem.

He said PBB once again underlined its strength of unity in its pursuit of leading the state of Sarawak to greater heights.

“Although there are many able leaders in PPB who are capable of leading the state, PBB had managed to avoid in-fighting, which enabled the smooth transition of power to the new chief minister.

“It is not easy to arrive at the unanimous decision over a very short period, but the PBB’s supreme council members never have problems with that.

“They will always support whoever is chosen to lead the party or to become the chief minister,” he said when asked to comment on the appointment of Datuk Amar Abang Johari Tun Openg as the new Chief Minister.

Lo said PBB’s matured decision and smooth transition of power was very important in the pursuit of Adenan’s legacy, such as to reclaim Sarawak’s rights and to continue with the foundation stones that have been laid down by late chief minister.

He congratulated and fully supported the appointment of Abang Johari as the new chief minister, saying Abang Johari deserved the post given he has very wide experience in the development of Sarawak and Malaysian politics.

“Abang Johari’s appointment is very important in the pursuit of Sarawak’s rights, benefits, wealth and prosperity for all communities, which had been started by the late chief minister.

“I’m sure under him and PBB as the platform of BN, and with the support of everyone, he will be able to carry on with the good work of Adenan and fulfill his dreams, and to complete the journey that Adenan had set for the Sarawak people,” he said.
