KUCHING: SUPP Central is assisting Kuching Resident Office to distribute BR1M cash vouchers from 9am to 4pm on March 23 and 24 at its headquarters here.

According to party president Senator Datuk Dr Sim Kui Hian, the move was meant to help ease congestion at the Resident Office during the distribution period.

“This is for those who do not provide their bank account numbers in their BR1M applications. We encourage people to have bank accounts so the money can be banked in directly.

“The Resident Office said there are two batches of recipients. The 2,809 recipients in Batch 1 covering Padungan (155), Pending (975), Batu Lintang (589), Kota Sentosa (24) and Batu Kawah (1,066) could collect their BR1M cash vouchers on March 23.

“The 2,015 recipients in Batch 2 comprising recipients in Padungan (207), Pending (453), Batu Lintang (363), Kota Sentosa (147) and Batu Kawah (845) could collect theirs on March 24,” he told reporters after distributing Senate grants to 59 groups at SUPP headquarters yesterday.

Dr Sim advised the grant recipients to utilise the money to benefit their respective organisations or associations.

He also hoped that more BN representatives would win in the coming state election so that they would be able to help more people.

“Each BN elected representatives gets RM4 million for their respective constituency. As such, more allocations can be given to more areas in Sarawak for projects and organisations to conduct their activities,” he said.

Meanwhile, BR1M recipients can check online at www.supp.org.my or through SMS on which batch they are in. For more information, call 082-246999 or 082-507051 (Resident Office).
