52nd PAC meeting being held for two days

KUCHING: The 52nd State Public Account Committee (PAC) meeting is being held at the Committee Room of the State Legislative Assembly Complex here for two days (yesterday and today). It was chaired by PAC chairman Sadong Jaya Assemblyman, Aidel Lariwoo.

During the me e t ing the Committee will examine the various government agencies, statutory bodies and government­linked companies (OLCs) that are being called as witness to respond on the queries and issued that were raised in the 2105 Auditor­General’s Reports Series 2 (Laporan Ketua Audit Negara (LKAN) 2015 Siri ii).

Among the issues that were raised in the Auditor­General’s Report 2015 Series 2 are Management of Assessment Rates Collection, Project Management on the Construsction of Acquatic Centre at the Sarawak Sport Complex, Petra Jaya, Kuching, Renovation and upgrading of Tanjung Manis Port Facilties Project, Sejadu Sdn Bhd and Sarawak Information Systems Sdn Bhd.


The PAC is important to provide the necessary ‘check and balance’ on government spending so that it would get the ‘maximum returns to the taxpayers and to ensure that the government money is well spent for the benefit of the rakyat (people).

Other members of PAC are Opar Assemblyman Dato Ranum Anak Mina, Tanjung Batu Assemblyman Chiew Chiu Sing, Ngemah Assemblyman Alexander Vincent, Kabong Assemblyman Mohd Chee Bin Kadir, Batu Lintang Assemblyman See Chee How, Telian Assemblyman Yussibnosh Balo and Batu Kitang Assemblyman Ir Lo Khere Chiang.
