KUCHING: Various activities were carried
out at the (PERKATA) special school recently for the children there.
Organised by Global Design Studio, an
active community network comprising students, graduates and interdisciplinary
academic creative personnel from Curtin University’s school of Built
Environment, (SoBE) in Bentley, Western Australia, the programme seeks to
enhance student learning experiences through international community
collaboration across three phases undertaken this year.
The team of 24 students and industry
experts took to the 14-day road trip travelling to Sarawak and one of the
activities was to share a day of joy with the special school children.
Batu Kitang State Assemblyman, Lo Khere
Chiang who officiated at the occasion said it was a good gesture for the Global
Design Studio to think of the children with special needs.
He said charity in the hearts is a good
moral support for such people. Lo hoped that other organisations would also
spend time with such children or at the Old folks’ home to bring cheers to
their lives.
The day’s activities included art painting,
fabric paper roll, puppet making, origami, hand painting and musicial
activities.
