MPP chairman Lo Khere Chiang said he is fortunate because police in Padawan are also committed to the cause.
“Illegal gambling is rampant in MPP’s area. Apart from illegal betting of 4D numbers there is fish machines, but MPP is committed to eradicating any illegal gambling activities,” the Batu Kitang assemblyman said when presenting course completion certificates to eight MPP enforcement personnel on Wednesday.
“The Padawan police chief has already mentioned that fish machines are associated with illegal gambling. Therefore, I appeal to the public not to carry out any such activities in Padawan Municipal Council’s area. Should there be any such activities, Padawan police will raid and not hesitate to arrest anyone suspected to be involved.”
He stressed that the police chief’s stern warning must be taken seriously.
“Should the public have any information regarding any illegal activities in MPP’s area, call IPD Padawan on the hotline 082-862233,” said Lo.
He thanked Padawan police for conducting the two-day course for MPP’s traffic warden unit.
The unit aims to provide assistance and support to traffic policemen in controlling and regulating traffic flow during peak hours and emergencies.
