SUPP Kota Sentosa to recruit more youth to stay relevant

KUCHING: Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) Kota Sentosa Branch will recruit more youths in its bid to effectively transform the branch.

Newly elected branch chairman Lo Khere Chiang , disclosed this to reporters when met at the first Hari Raya Open House of the Head of State at Astana Negeri in Petra Jaya here last Monday.

Lo said it was an honour to be elected as chairman of the branch but the post also implied a heavy responsibility.

“Datuk Alfred Yap Chin Loi, the former chairman, had been doing very well over the years and to parallel what he had done is not easy but I will certainly try my best to move (the branch) forward under this time of difficulty within SUPP.

“I will try to bring everybody together in Kota Sentosa. It is fortunate that over the years, we have been very united within Sentosa. I will continue to follow Datuk Alfred Yap’s footsteps and stengthen the branch and hopefully by so doing we can attract more young people to join us and move forward to be relevant,” he said.

Lo stressed that recruiting more young members was important to strengthen the branch and party.

“But in order to successfully do so, we need to strengthen ourselves; we need ot make ourselves relevant; we need to improve ourselves; and hopefully with my new team, I can achieve the result for the branch,” said Lo who is also Chairman of Padawan Municipal Council.
