KUCHING: Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) chairman Lo Khere Chiang inspected a section of Kung Phin Road under the council’s jurisdiction following a complaint that it was badly damaged and had partially collapsed.

He was accompanied by state Democratic Action Party (DAP) chief Chong Chieng Jen’s special assistant Abdul Aziz Isa and Kuching DAP Socialist Youth chief Sia Ai Kiew.

Aziz, through his press statement on Thursday, said he spoke to Lo regarding the matter and was told that the council was doing its best to repair the damaged road as soon as possible.

“The road will be closed temporarily to give way for repair works which will take some time to complete. Thus, after talking with Lo, we advise the public to be careful and not to use this road at the moment,” he added.

“At the same time, I would like to urge MPP to expand and repair damaged roads under its jurisdiction as well as build more roads with quality that meet international standards,” he said.
