According to Naim Head of Corporate Communications Caroline Yeo, the contribution was part of the group’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives towards sports development and also supporting the government effort to promote the State.
“We are very happy to be able to facilitate the organising of this event. Indeed, such event is in tandem with our government’s effort to put Sarawak on the world map,” said Caroline during the Pre-Gawai ‘Meet and Greet’ session with the participants of Padawan International 4x4 Off-roaders Extreme Challenge 2015, held at Naim Kuching Sales Gallery, Jalan Green, yesterday.
Caroline added that whether in terms of tourism or investments,Naim’s group welcomes and is fully supportive of such initiatives.
She pointed out that building a strong business and creating a better world are essential ingredients for long-term success. “As such, we endeavor to integrate our role as a corporate citizen with our day-to-day business, and more importantly, all our corporate responsibility initiatives are from our hearts, driven by a passion to make a difference for our communities, our environment and our State, and also the nation as a whole.
“We are very honored and excited to have played a part in facilitating the Padawan International 4x4 Off-Roaders Extreme Challenge 2015 and we were made to understand that this event is the first sanctioned 4x4 off-roaders event in Sarawak and with the efforts by all concerned, we are sure that it will be a huge success,” said Caroline.
She added that Sarawak is blessed with nature, culture, adventure, reasonable cost of living and a stable economy and the crucial factors which make the State an attractive destination for tourism, retirement and investment.
Also speaking during the event were Assistant Minister for Public Health Datuk Dr Jerip Susil who said that Padawan area has many unique places that the participants can visit apart from the challenge.
“Padawan has many tourist attractions such as Padawan Raft Safari, Bunuk Longhouse, Annah Rais Longhouses and many others that the participants can enjoy,” said Jerip, adding they could enjoy the spirits of Sarawak as the State is known for its flora and fauna. He also hoped that all the participants would enjoy their off-road challenges and their times here.
The Padawan International 4x4 Off-roaders Extreme Challenge 2015 is scheduled to commence on 23 May 2015 at Bengoh Resettlement Scheme area. Sixty participants from Indonesia, Thailand, Philippines, Sabah, Peninsular Malaysia and Brunei will be taking part in the event. Also present at the event were Naim Senior General Manager Charles Bateman, Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) Chairman Councilor Ir Lo Khere Chiang, Organising Chairman, Councillor Wilfred Yap and other distinguished guests.
