The New Economic policy is the cause of unfair discriminations which focus on one race instead of helping all the poor from all races.

The New Economic policy is the cause of unfair discriminations which focus on one race instead of helping all the poor from all races.

This is the kind of policy that erodes our trust in one another. I am saddened to hear that the Prime Minister had again affirmed action policy favouring Malays in a BBC interview just recently.

First, how do we attract overseas talent back when the attitude is still the same old attitude as before. Who would want to return to help build Malaysia when the policies are not changed? That was one of the reasons why people migrated overseas.

Before winning the election, Pakatan Harapan (PH) claimed that they would bring changes in the new government but it appears that it is just the same old policies with not much change.

PH had banked on the policy to win the election by stating fairness and justice to all. After winning, many have kept quiet when the PM goes on and on about how to help one particular race.

There is no need to specify which race to help when we bring all races to be at par with one another. We just need to tax the rich and the successful and to  help the poor irrespective of race and religion. Those who work hard will be satisfied with the fairness and will pay taxes willingly and accordingly.

The government of the day only needs to provide good hospitals, maintain good doctors, provide good and affordable education and provide affordable housing within the reach of every citizen.

Every country needs these capitalists to create business opportunities and industries as they create employment opportunities for workers and professionals alike. Only then will wealth in a nation multiply. The private sectors are the economic movers. The government of the day facilitates and regulates.

We must not forget that Sabah and Sarawak’s Bumiputeras are much neglected and in the rural areas where the majority of the Dayak lives, they are the worst off. They do not have proper roads or access to electricity and water supply all these years.

Thus, I wonder how PM Tun Dr Mahathir is going to achieve a developed country by 2025. He is always on about Peninsular Malaysia and it is obvious that he does not have Sabah and Sarawak at heart.

If Tun Dr Mahathir’s intention is to brand Malaysia Baru as ‘democratic, equal, fair and just’, then he should support the people from both Sarawak and Sabah to determine their future. Table in parliament to respect MA63 and to return all rights and privileges to Sarawak and Sabah as enshrined under MA63.
