KUCHING: A ‘sneak preview’ of the lion dance for its upcoming open house was held at the SUPP headquarters yesterday, in the presence of its members and potential candidates who will be contesting in the upcoming state election.

SUPP will be holding an open house on the first day of the Chinese New Year (Feb 8) at 9.30am to 1pm.

The open house is expected to be attended by the Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud and Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Adenan Satem at noon.

SUPP president Senator Datuk Prof Sim Kui Hian was however quick to deflect any questions from the media regarding the announcement of names and which constituency their candidates will be contesting in.

Among the notable figures present at yesterday’s ceremonial event were Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) chairman Lo Khere Chiang, SUPP Pending branch youth secretary Milton Foo and former MPP chairman Tan Joo Phoi who lost in Batu Kawa in the last state election.

During yesterday’s ceremonial event, a lion dance showcasing eight lions filled up the hall to usher in the Chinese New Year celebration.
