KUCHING:
Chinese community must support the leadership of Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi
Tan Sri Adenan Satem for the coming state election in an effort to make Sarawak
becoming a developed state.
This
was according to chairman of SUPP Kota Sentosa branch Lo Khere Chiang in his
speech when officiating at the Chinese New Year celebration at the community
centre in Hui Sing Garden, here yesterday.
“Since
Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Adenan Satem took over as Sarawak Chief Minister, he has
done a lot to help the Chinese in Sarawak especially in the issue of giving
recognition to the Unified Examination Certificate (UEC) for students who
graduated from a private Chinese High School.
“This
is because the new chief minister is very concerned about the problem,
especially on the issue of the Chinese schools recognition.
“As
we know the chief minister has also been vital in fighting for the rights of
Sarawak such as royalty payments. This is a main goal pursued by the chief
minister and we believe that the state of Sarawak is on the right track to
become a developed state in Malaysia,” he said.
Therefore, the Chinese people should be
able to evaluate leaders and Barisan Nasional component parties like SUPP that
is working hard to ensure the prosperity and progress in terms of development,
and human capital can be prioritised, Lo pointed out.
