Lo Khere Chiang, Dr Sim & Chiew check on flash flood victims

KUCHING: President of Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) Senator Datuk Dr Sim Kui Hian and other party leaders visited areas in the city which was hit by flash flood after a few hours of heavy rain yesterday morning.

During the visit Dr Sim also came across State Assemblywoman for Batu Kawa, Christina Chiew. He then urged Christina Chiew and chairman of Padawan Municipal Council Lo Khere Chiang to take a photo together.

 He pointed out that they were there to help the affected residents they should put aside their political differences and work together.

The SUPP leaders also visited a flood relief centre (Stapok Community Hall). Dr Sim said it was a pity that while many were heading for the New Year countdown, quite a number of people in Stampin and Batu Lintang were affected by flash flood.

He urged those who could help in kind to do so to lighten the burden of the affected resident
