Chinese New Year concert to be held at MJC township this Friday

KUCHING: A ‘Chinese New Year 2016 Concert’ with special appearance from M-Girls, TeaFM deejays, local singers and performers will be held at MJC Batu Kawah New Township’s field at 7pm this Friday (Jan 8).

The event is jointly organised by Padawan Municipal Council (MPP), Batu Kawa MJC Owner Association, TeaFM, and with MJC City Development Sdn Bhd as the sponsor. The function will be officiated by MPP chairman Lo Khere Chiang.

Activities in the programme include signing of autograph session by M-Girls who will also be promoting their latest Chinese New Year album. There will also be dancing and singing performances in English, Chinese and Malay by local talents while Tea FM deejays will hold some games.

M-Girls, dubbed as Malaysia’s version of SHE, is a four-member Malaysia girls group that was formed in late 2000 and have released a number of Chinese New Year albums. The group comprises Crystal Ong, Queenz Cheng, Angeline Khoo and Cass Chin.

Meanwhile, a Chinese New Year bazaar is now opened nightly to provide a one-stop place for celebrants to shop for festive items.
