Passing on of Datuk William Tanyuh anak Nub


20150721_140501 Former Bengoh state assemblyman Datuk William Tanyuh anak Nub left a deep impression on his comrades who spoke of his deep loyalty to the Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP).

Tanyuh aged 69, passed away in the Sarawak General hospital leaving behind his wife, Datin Jennifer Alice Chee Moinie and daughter, Patricia, sons, Andrew, Peter and Simon.

He was known as a “Tebiya” tribe in his community which means Paramount Chief.

Jennifer who said her husband was her soulmate said he was only in the hospital for a day and passed away at 7.50 pm.

She said the funeral service would be held on Thursday at 10.00 am at the St Thomas Cathedral here and the burial on the same day.

Tanyuh  won a by-election in 1982. In 1991 State Election, he contested against Datuk Wilfred Nissom of Parti Bansa Dayak Sarawak (PBDS) and won.

He again won the 1996 election against Datuk Dr. Jerip Susil who stood as an independent.

Senator Datuk Dr. Sim Kui Hian, President of SUPP said Tanyud is a true gentleman and a loyal party member. He said the death is a big loss to the SUPP and Sarawakians as Tanyud had served the party with dedication unselfishly with dedication and passion.

Secretary general of SUPP, Dato’ Sebastian Ting who is a personal friend to the family said he was sad of the passing of such a good man.

“Through thick and thin, he stood by SUPP. He has contributed a lot with integrity and principal.

Padawan Municipal Council Chairman, Lo Khere Chiang said Tayud was a councillor in the Kuching Rural District council in 1988 and he had worked with him then as he was an engineer there.

He said Tayud was fiercely loyal to the party and his spirit and love for the party should be emulated by the younger SUPP generation.

Lo said the passing of Tanyud should serve as a reminder to all those to stay united to the party.
