Kota Padawan to become LED ‘Mini City of Lights’ in 5 years
KUCHING: The Padawan Municipal Council has a five-year plan to turn Kota Padawan into a ‘Mini City of Lights’.
Council secretary Andrew Joris Noyen said that among the proposed plan was to light up the area using LED lights and to enhance the facilities, amenities and landscape.
“We are coming up with a blueprint to enhance all these in the next five years, 2015-2019 and the reason why it will take so long is due to funding constraints,” he told a press conference at the council’s office in Padawan yesterday.
He said it aims is to make Kota Padawan into a tourist destination and areas for tourism will be identified, facilities and amenities revamped.
“All development at tourist attraction areas will be carried out in the current natural environment, and we plan to minimise the effects to the surrounding whilst carrying out the upgrading or improvements,” said Andrew.
