Early childhood education vital, says Lo Khere Chiang

KUCHING: The government is allocating financial assistance to parents with pre-school children as it considers early childhood education essential in developing the children’s knowledge and skills when they continue their formal education.

This was pointed out by chairman of Padawan Municipal Council, Lo Khere Chiang when officiating the 11th Tadika Johan graduation ceremony and concert held at Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka here yesterday.

“The government has already implemented free education from primary up to secondary level. I hope that the Ministry of Education will continue to strengthen our education system for the benefit of everyone,” he said, added that this year a total of 38 students had applied for the fees assistance provided by the government with 28 approved.

“I am very grateful and lauded the government for providing the assistance and hoped that such assistance will continue.

The younger generation will be the leaders of tomorrow, hence let us all play our part to educate them,” Lo said.

Also present were the headmistress of Tadika Johan, Wong Ai Lin and some community leaders.
