KUCHING: Residents of Kpg Bumbok will get their roads, drains and a hawker centre upgraded, thanks to Batu Kitang assemblyman Lo Khere Chiang who announced the approval of Rural Transformation Fund 2017 projects worth RM750,000.

The roads and drains will need RM250,000 while the hawker centre, RM500,000.

On top of that, 50 farmers from the village and Tematu whose farms were affected by the flash flood in 2015 were given RM1,000 each.

Lo was on hand to present them the financial aid at the village community hall on Thursday. The cash vouchers were issued by Kuching Agriculture Department.

“The 50 vouchers of RM1,000 each are meant for farmers affected by the flash flood in 2015. I am glad to say that roads, drains and a hawker centre in this village will be improved,” said Lo.

Several members of Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) and community leaders were also present at the function.
