Mid-Autumn Festival auspicious day for Chinese

KUCHING: The Mid-Autumn Festival which falls on this September 15th is an auspicious day for the Chinese.

In Sarawak it is a delight to come together and make merry with the people in Batu Kitang, said the area State Assemblyman Lo Khere Chiang.

“Mid-Autumn Festival is an occasion to spend with family and friends, enjoy the varieties of moon cakes and not forgetting the beautiful lanterns as symbolic of the celebration itself. The most beautiful part of it is spending the time together,” he added.

Lo thanked the residents in various estates for extending the invitations in recent days and said through such gathering, it helped foster relationship among the residents.

At Arang Road, Taman Flora Indah Flat Residents, the residents with the children gathered together for a potluck and barbecue party. He was thrilled to find both the young and old having a good time together.

Lo then attended a celebration with Padawan Councillors at the Mini Town Square at Mile 7 and members of the Mile 7 SUPP sub branch with Cr Wilfred Yap, Cr. Yeo Eng Kuang and Cr. Shirley Pui.

On Sunday night, Lo enjoyed the night with SUPP 10th Miles Sub Branch Women Section. He welcomed the new SUPP members who gathered there that night and made a call for them to help build a better Batu Kitang.

Lo also wished everyone in his constituency a Happy Mid Autumn festival.
