MPP welcomes private sector’s contribution

KUCHING: Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) welcomes contribution by the property developers in providing condominium facilities and landscaping maintenance in helping to make Kuching a better place to live in.

“MPP covers an area of 1,432 sq km and services provided by MPP include licensing, scavenging/desludging, engineering plan/building plan approval, road maintenance, construction of roads, bridges, drains, street lighting, landscape maintenance, in addition to a multitude of health services to meet the aspirations of the residents.

“We therefore need a lot of cooperation and support from the general public and private sector organisations to help make Kucing a better place to live in,” said MPP Chairman Lo Khere Chiang when officiating at the opening of Instarmac’s sale gallery at Premier 101 yesterday.

Lo said that the government had to face the challenges of complementing private sector development by implementing public facilities such as roads, public transportation and street lighting.

“All these have to be properly planned and carried out in a timely manner so as to maximise the benefit. Such facilities cannot be set up too early before the populace is there and cannot be delayed for too long as the implementation costs will go up. In closing, I would like to congratulate Istarmac on their launching of The Cube and this sale gallery which I now have the pleasure to declare open,” he concluded.
