KUCHING: Padawan Municipal Council (MPP)
has resurfaced a stretch of road at Taman Kwong Tiong, Jalan Datuk Stephen
Yong.
MPP Chairman, Lo Khere Chiang, said that
the council had allocated RM200,000 to resurface the one-kilometre long
road.
“The housing estate has been here for more
than 30 years and this road has not been resurfaced for more than 20 years,”
said Lo during a working visit to Taman Kwong Tiong yesterday.
He said that the work took about three
weeks to complete.
The resurfacing of the road will benefit
more than 150 houses there.
“There are still some areas that need to
resurfaced or patched, but due to limited financial resources, we cannot do it
for every corner of Padawan area,” he stressed.
Lo said the council would, however, continue
to look into more serious issues.
He encouraged the public to forward their
complaints to the Councillors in charge of their respective areas.
“The public can also make their complaints
on TALIKHIDMAT, a website where the public can reach the state government
directly,” he said.
Among those present were Councillor Chai
Sheau Lin who is in charge of Taman Kwong Tiong and former Councillor, Tan Joo
Poi.
