Lo seeks public help to identify driver in hit-and-run





KUCHING: Batu Lintang State Assemblyman, Lo Khere Chiang is appealing to the public to identify the driver who hit a septuagenarian, Tan Than Poh.

Tan, 74, suffered fractured legs after he was hit by a car while riding a bicycle in Pandungan area at around 7.00pm on 11 September and has been warded at the Sarawak General Hospital ever since.

Lo who paid a visit to Tan at the hospital yesterday morning said it was irresponsible of the car driver to flee the scene after hitting the elderly man.

He said he hoped those who have either witnessed or have information about the incident could contact him at 013-818 or go to Kuching District Police Headquarters to lodge a report or meet Assistant Investigation Officer, Sergeant Zullfaqar Hashim.

Meanwhile, Tan who was in high spirit during Lo’s visit said it would be a while before he recovers from his injuries.
