PM tables motion in Dewan Rakyat to increase Sarawak state constituencies to 82

LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak today tabled in the
Dewan Rakyat a motion that recommends increasing by 11 to 82 the number
of state constituencies in Sarawak.
The motion on the Report on the Redelineation of Sarawak Electoral Boundaries says the recommendations were gazetted on Dec 5 last year.
“The new constituencies are Batu Kitang, Stakan, Serembu, Bukit Semuja, Gedong, Kabong, Tellian, Bukit Goram, Murum, Samalaju and Mulu,” Najib said when tabling the motion.
The prime minister said these additional constituencies would help to enhance the services elected representatives delivered to the people. -Bernama
