SUPP Batu Kitang aims to repair 30
dilapidated houses by end of 2021

KUCHING, June 25: SUPP Batu Kitang branch has set a target to repair another 30 dilapidated houses in the constituency by the end of next year.
Batu Kitang assemblyman Lo Khere Chiang who is also Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) Batu Kitang chairman said the branch has so far repaired 70 such houses since 2017.
He highlighted that the house repairs ought to be continued to make full use of the allocation from the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) state government.
“With the RM1 million allocation yearly for each constituency from the state government for such a programme (repair of dilapidated houses), we, SUPP in Batu Kitang branch, are eyeing to repair another 30 houses within this one-and-half years,” Lo said today.
He said this to reporters during a visit to a house which had been repaired, owned by a family at Jalan Cinle at Kota Padawan.
Lo, who is Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) chairman said it was very touching to note the strong community engagement with the house repair programme in the area.

On the house that he visited today. he disclosed repairs were carried out on the
leaking roof together with other repair works costing RM15,000.
The work was carried out by Kota Padawan Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK) and People’s Volunteer Corps (Rela).
The house, Lo said, was home to 11 family members including siblings who were not married, as well as two children.
The residents are farmers selling vegetables at the Kota Padawan market, as well as selling from shop to shop in the town. — DayakDaily
