Over 200 children in Zurich’s ERTPR programme


KUCHING: More than 200 children from selected communities in Sarawak trained under the Zurich Eat Right to Play Right (ERTPR) programme strutted their football skills and talent during a half day carnival at  Pusat Latihan Polis (Pulapol, Jalan Puncak Borneo, today.
Twenty four teams comprising boys and girls aged between seven and 12 from five communities near here competed in a football tournament which was divided into three categories namely boys under 9, boys under 12 and girls under 12.
The winning teams under each category received medals as well as shopping vouchers worth RM1,500 while the grand winner brought home an ERTPR trophy.
The objective of the programme was to improve children’s knowledge on nutrition and improve their physical activities through football and to cultivate more active lifestyles.


Participants of the ERTPR Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme were all dressed in their kits to test their skills in the football tournament as well as participate in nutritional games.
Through sustained engagements over two and a half years, the ERTPR programme has recorded 35.81 per cent of children have increased their fitness level and 54.40 per cent of them have increased their understanding about nutrition.
Football and Healthy Eating Carnival was held in Sarawak after a successful tour in Penang in its mission to motivate children and families nationwide to practice good eating habits through fun and engaging activities.
Also joining in the excitement was chairman of Padawan Municipal Council Lo Khere Chiang and volunteers from Zurich Malaysia’s Kuching branch who helped to supervise the activities.
