KUCHING: The community of Zone 4S Neighbourhood Watch Committee (KRT 4S) are encouraged to sign up for the various workshops to be organised by the Batu Kitang Community Centre.
Batu Kitang assemblyman Lo Khere Chiang said the centre would continue to organise beneficial activities for the community, especially those that can bring the villagers closer.
He said the upcoming slime making workshop, candle making workshop, cold process soap making workshop and cheese making workshop are open to all constituents of Batu Kitang.
Lo also commended KRT 4S for taking the initiative to organise the Gawai closing event, which he believed had brought the community of all races to come together in unity.
“Like other celebrations in Malaysia, Gawai Dayak Celebration is also important because it build cultural awareness and promote unity,” he said at the KRT 4S Kampung Semeba Gawai closing ceremony on Sunday evening.
He also appealed to Sarawakians of various ethnic groups to organise events aimed at strengthening unity.
“We must realise that we have to stay united in taking care of our beloved Sarawak and its prosperity.
“In reality we have proven to the world that unity in diversity is the key towards making our motherland comparable to other countries.
“Indeed, the prosperity and security that we enjoy today is the result of mutual respect and understanding among the multiracial and religious people since the time of our ancestors,” he said.
