Kuching City Hash holds dinner to conclude run

KUCHING: Kuching City Hash organised a Merdeka celebration dinner for its members at a leading city restaurant on Saturday night.

The dinner was also to conclude the Kuching City Hash Merdeka Day run which was held on Saturday afternoon at Batu Kitang, Padawan.

Present at the dinner was Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) Chairman Lo Khere Chiang, who in his speech, said that Padawan would continue to work with Kuching City Hash to further promote Padawan area which is full of natural rainforest.

“Kuching City Hash running activities are mostly held in Padawan area, therefore through this activity we can promote Padawan area not only to the local people but also to the tourists,” he said.

It is not easy to find natural rainforest, but in Padawan district there are a lot to offer for international tourism, Lo pointed out.

Meanwhile, Kuching City Hash Grandmaster Richard Lee, said that Kuching City Hash organised about 50 runs per year with most of these being held in Padawan area.

“Next year we will be going to Bali to bid in the Inter Hash Run 2017, and hope MPP will support us,” he said.

Lee also conveyed his appreciation to MPP for their full support, and also to JASA Sarawak (Sarawak Special Affairs Department) for giving RM10,000 to Kuching City Hash to organise the Merdeka Run.

Kuching City Hash that was formed in 1988 currently has 240 active members.
