MPP to unveil new features during its 17th anniversary
KUCHING:
Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) is celebrating its 17th anniversary as a
municipal council this year by unveiling a few new features.
Disclosing this to reporters yesterday during a Hari Raya function organised by the council, MPP chairman Lo Khere Chiang commented that the council is serious in achieving its new vision.
“This year (2013) is a very important year for us here at MPP and we are launching and rebranding a few things,” he said.
Among the things introduced by the council this year are the new vision which is ‘Towards a Cleaner, Green, Safe and Prosperous Padawan Municipality by 2015’, new corporate direction which is called ‘MPP: New Thinking, New Strategies’ and a new tagline ‘Padawan: Better Place, Better Life, Better Future’.
“As the chairman of MPP, I would like to remind myself, all fellow councillors and MPP staff that we are running out of time. Among the things we need to prepare ourselves for are our direction of new thinking and new strategies,” he added.
For him, the next 28 months will be all about hard work for MPP.
This is because with the implementation of new programmes, the council will face new challenges and find new ways of doing things, meaning everyone at MPP must be resourceful and creative.
Apart from that, among the other things new from MPP is that the council’s frontliners are also required to provide friendly, reliable, efficient and effective (abbreviated to FREE) service, which is also known as Padawan Hospitality @ FREE to all customers.
